Brewing Structure.

We are going to be building our brewing structure up in the Bay Area with Mike's brother this weekend. The kettles are being built down here in San Diego by a local stainless steel fabricator. Everything was designed by Mike, so hopefully it works!

I'm looking forward to checking out a couple of the breweries: Magnolia, Pacific Coast, 21st Amendment, Anchor, Speakeasy, Beach Chalet. And hopefully some Beer Bars: La Trappe, Toronado SF, Alembic. What are you favorite breweries and/or beer bars in Bay Area?

I'll be posting pictures from our trip and the building process once we get back.

New Logo Direction.

This is our newest look.

As you can see we've given the logo a little bit of swagger. Some new swoops and a very fancy "E."

Painted Shelves

Look at our shelves.

A big mess of unfinished wood and hastily organized grain bags, growlers, carboys, and other items... including our beloved dart board that we will need to get rid of once we are selling (we cannot have "fun" stuff in the brewery since it makes it too much like a bar.) No more pool table or shuffle board either. Just brewery related items.

I decided that it was about time to fix our organizational problems and put a nice coat of paint on the shelves as well. The first order of action was sanding. Lots of sanding and filling in holes with painter's putty. Lots of sanding.

Now I just need to devise a clever way to sort and store all of our grains while keeping plenty of room for other important stuff too.

Nice and Organized.

Carboys, Growlers, Malt & Specialty Grains. Now on to getting our Brewing System and Fermenters/Refrigeration Systems in a order. It's quite a difference between the first photo and this one.

Label Design

We are beginning to talk about branding and direction our brewery is going to take once we are up and running.

Today our good friend and excellent graphic designer got us five drafts for our label concepts. Unfortunately I cannot show you the designs quite yet, since I would have to kill you, you see? I can say that they are going to be great.

As with any alcoholic beverage we will need to eventually get the designs approved by the FDA/"The Man" before anything is final. This involves showing the alcohol content by volume, recycling info, net fl.oz, that no animals were harmed during the making of, etc...

Once we are more sure of the direction this place is going to be headed I will be sure to share it with you. Until then... CLASSIFIED.
